With Muhammad Yunus, the man who needs no introduction, and Lamiya Morshed, principal coordinator for SDG at Chief Adviser’s Office. I was handpicked by Professor to travel to Ireland as part of his delegation, sponsored by Yunus Centre to the One Young World Summit. It was an honor to receive claps and praises in front of him after presenting ideas on behalf of a multi-country group in front of hundreds of people from around the world who complimented him out loud saying, “No wonder, she’s so good, she was mentored by the best.” These moments were significant part of my formative years.

Looking back, that experience stands as one of the most transformative chapters of my early career. The opportunity to represent a diverse international group, the responsibility of speaking on a global stage, and the privilege of doing so under the mentorship of Professor Yunus shaped the way I see leadership, innovation, and service. Standing beside two individuals who have dedicated their lives to global development and social impact was not just motivating—it was life-altering.
As Bangladesh steps into this new era under the leadership and vision of Professor Yunus, I find myself reflecting on the values he instilled in generations of young people: courage to dream, commitment to ethical action, and the belief that change begins with compassion. His guidance during those early years continues to influence how I work, think, and aspire to contribute to society.
This moment from the past is more than just a memory—it is a reminder of what is possible when great leadership meets youthful ambition. And today, as the nation moves toward a hopeful new horizon, it feels fitting to honor the person who helped shape that hope in so many of us.
