WE DEMAND THE INTERVENTION OF INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS ORGANIZATIONS AND JUSTICE FOR BANGLADESH ARMY CHIEF GENERAL WAQAR-UZZAMAN TO STOP THE TORTURE AND KILLING OF MINORITY BAWM CHRISTIANS BY THE BANGLADESH ARMY IN BANGLADESH:
The murderer, General Waqar-uz-Zaman (SBP, OSP, SGP), is currently the Chief of Army Staff of the Bangladesh Army. He previously served as the Chief of General Staff at the Army Headquarters and the 15th Principal Staff Officer of the Armed Forces Division. He is an army chief who is extremely hostile to the minority Christian community of the hill region of Bangladesh. Under his leadership, the Bawm Christian community in the Chittagong Hill Tracts has committed inhuman torture and persecution, including genocide. Under his orders and plans the Brigade Commander of Bandarban district and Ruma Army Zone have committed inhuman torture and murder of the backward Bawm community. The Christians of the hills are living in a frightening situation today.
We demand due process for this notorious army chief at the international level through the intervention of the United Nations and international human rights organizations.
